Abstract


THE EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL INDOMITABLENESS AND EMPHATIC SKILLS OF THE STUDENTS’ AT SECONDARY SCHOOL

In this study, the relationship between emotional indomitableness and empathic skills of secondary school students and empathic skills according to some demographic variables of emotional indomitableness and lower dimensions of sensitivity, improvement and deterioration and empathic skills are intended to be examined.

This study was conducted on 295 secondary school students, including 159 girls and 136 male students. How much the individual can control himself internally in the face of any event or situation that is difficult and disturbing his or her emotional balance, and the reasonable level of external reactions, shows the power of the individual's emotional indemnifying. In addition, the ability to express an individual's emotions correctly, to control emotions and to manage their emotions is very important for positive mental health, social harmony and personal harmony. Empathic skill is the  ability of the individual to evaluate events and situations from someone else's point of view.  As classically this  term  means  the ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes.  And that is important to be adopted among the students.

Do secondary school students show a significant difference according to gender, age, class, income, number of siblings, number of children in the family, mother's education level and father's education level?

In addition, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), correlation and independent sample t test were performed for the analysis of this study. The sensitivity sub-dimension and empathic skills of secondary school students from the emotional indestructibility sub-dimensions; it was found to differ significantly according to gender. In this sense, it was found that the lower dimension of emotional indomitableness was higher than the sensitivity sub-dimension and empathic skills of the female students.
