Abstract

STABILITY AND SATISFACTION IN TRANSITION TO ADULTS: A THEORETICAL EVALUATION ON THE EFFECT OF ACTION AND SOCIAL INTEREST.

The main purpose of this study is to examine whether agency and social interest have a significant effect on relationship stability and relationship satisfaction. It will also examine whether agency has a significant impact on social interest. In addition, it is examined whether these variables differ according to some demographic variables. In the study in which the relational screening model was used, a total of 399 individuals constituted the research group. In the research, “Multidimensional Action Personality Scale”, “Adlerian Social Interest Scale in Romantic Relations”, “Relationship Stability Scale” were used as data collection tools. Path model and t-Test are the basic statistics used in the analysis of data. In the study in which the structural equation model was used, the research group consisted of 399 individuals, 39.3% being male (n = 157) and 60.7% (n = 242) being a total of 399 individuals. As a result of the research, it was revealed that agency (ß = .21, p <.01), social interest (ß = .37, p <.01) had a positive and low predictive power on relationship satisfaction. It was revealed that social interest (ß = -0.15, p <.01) had negative and low predictive power on relationship stability. As a result of the analysis, the mediating role of social interest is observed. It was found that the indirect effect of agency (ß = 0.008, p <.01) on social satisfaction was low and positive. The total effect of agency (ß = 0.29, p <.01) and social interest (ß = 0.002, p <.01) was found to be positively associated with relationship satisfaction and relationship stability. Findings obtained after the analysis of the research were compared with the results of the research in the literature.
