Abstract


MIDDLE KIZILIRMAK BASIN IN CHALCOLITHIC AGE

Throughout history, when selecting a place or a region as a location of settlement, the people have taken many features of the location into account. Because the Middle Kizilirmak Basin has been rich in water resources since the earliest times and its geopolitical and strategic features have been suitable for settlement, this geography has been the site of human communities for thousands of years.In terms of geographical location, the Mıddle Kizilirmak Basin are in the middle of Anatolia. Because of its geographical location, this region is responsible for the flow of culture between east and west, and north and south of Anatolia. In this region settlement movements had started beginning of the prehistoric era in Chalcolithic Age especially in the 4th millennium BC, reached a very intense level. Furthermore, the acceptance of the Chalcolithic age as a prelude to the emergence of urbanization in Anatolia increases the importance of this study. This study not only will shed light on the history of the that period in the region but also it will reveal how and where the settlement activities were intensified in Chalcolithic ages. It will also contribute to the recognition of many cultural beings of prehistoric ages in the region by the scientific world.
