Buhara, geçmişten günümüze kadar birçok tarihî, kültürel vb. faaliyetlerin yaşandığı bir şehirdir. Bundan dolayı şehir, kadim geçmişiyle Türk kültür hayatında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu çalışmada Buhara şehri, tarihî, kültürel, sosyal, siyasal vb. yönlerden ele alınmaktadır. Şehrin geçmişte ve günümüzdeki durumu hakkında bilgiler verilmektedir. Bu bilgiler verilirken şehrin tarihine yön vermiş devletler, milletler hakkında bilgiler verilmiş ve bu milletlerin şehrin mimari yapısına ve kültürel yönüne katkıları hakkında genel değerlendirmelerde bulunulmuştur. Buhara şehri, sadece coğrafi konum ve tarihî ile ön plana çıkmamaktadır. Şehir İslamiyet öncesi ve İslamiyet sonrasında da birçok dinî faaliyete ev sahipliği yapmıştır. İslamiyet’le birlikte özellikle birçok önemli medreselerin burada faaliyetlerine rastlanılmıştır. Şehir İpek yolu güzergâhında yer almasından dolayı geçmişte ve günümüzde de önemli merkezlerden kabul edilmektedir. Kısacası bu çalışmada şehir, birçok yönden ele alınmıştır.

In this study, the city of Bukhara, historical, cultural, social, political and so on. are discussed from aspects. Information about the past and present situation of the city is given. While giving this information, information was given about the states and nations that shaped the history of the city and general evaluations were made about the contributions of these nations to the architectural structure and cultural aspect of the city. The city of Bukhara stands out not only with its geographical location and history. The city hosted many religious activities before and after Islam. Along with Islam, activities of many important madrasas were found here. The city is considered to be one of the important centers in the past and today because it is located on the Silk Road route. In short, the city has been handled in many ways in this study.
